Goryptic: From blast to collapse

This band hails from the country where people think eating frog-legs is a fantastic idea.
France.
I almost feel an urge to end the review right here becoz of this. Not only is that frog-thing quite disturbing, we also know thru history that the French are pretty much gay, each an every one of them. And they all wear berets. So, beret-wearing fags who are eating frog-legs 24/7, you understand the bizarreness of that, right?
One thing France is not known for is producing quality death metal. I liked Suppuration back in the day, and that’s pretty much the last decent shit I heard from France when it comes to death metal. Will Goryptic (what is it with bands and their fucken monikers these days?) redeem the country that’s so shit-stained thanx to their frog-eating activities?
Hardly.
But these guys aren’t complete shit, it’s just not very competent nor great. A by-the-dozen death metal band in every shape, way and form. The sound is muddy, the occasional pig-scream is included, it’s downtuned and not very catchy whatsoever. Goryptic couldn’t spell “technical” or “fancy” with the help of every dictionary in the world. And it doesn’t matter much. They do their death metal and leaves it at that.
There are some Morbid Angel inspiration in the guitar work showing thru, and I guess that’s somewhat a compliment. Besides that, it’s all death metal complete with a somewhat sloppy drumming, decent growls, irritating backing (pig) vocals and the hideous American way of blasting.
And the bonus track… Well… It’s actually the best one on here. Drum’n‘bass programmings accompanied by some catchy riffing.
I’m out of here. As is Goryptic from my stereo.
